Learn TEN COMPOSITIONAL STYLES to use in your own art, plus learn how our culture uses color and design to influence our thinking. Have fun creating your own subliminal messages in your art for personal growth and to enhance your home with desired effects. Strengthen the impact of your REALISTIC, IMPRESSIONIST, and ABSTRACT art by experimenting with dynamic effects. Discover your own style and add drama … and pizzazz … to your work, including using color and value, contrast and focal point, pattern and texture. Class content comes from environmental psychology, feng shui, and famous paintings. Prior experience and drawing skills are not required. This is a collage workshop, though you may also work in other media of your choice, with individual attention for all levels. This is a fun, interactive and informative workshop for beginners and seasoned artists. You will have an opportunity to bring other art to discuss (or work on) in class to improve the composition and specific effects you desire. This class applies to all types of art: realism, impressionism and abstract art, plus any media.

Materials: Bring your favorite media. Bring 120 or 140 lb. watercolor paper (such as a Canson 9” x 12” pad with ten sheets) or similar heavy surfaces that can stand up to glue and your media, photos, sketches, magazines, ribbons, greeting cards, wrapping paper, fabric, lace, art papers, any two-dimensional (or partially three-dimensional) textures or images that can be glued to your surface. Plus, scissors, glue, brushes, paper cup, rags. You may wish to create ten different compositions, if time permits, or less if you work more meticulously. Your work may turn into small artistic greeting cards or larger works of art for framing. This class is not limited to collage. You may add pencil, paint, or any media of your choice with the appropriate papers or surfaces for that media. There will be a $5 materials fee collected at the first class. Contact Linda if you have any questions: linda@lindaluisi.com.
